About Us
The Waltons Guitar Festival of Ireland is an annual event celebrating the music of the guitar in its many forms. The largest event of its kind in Ireland, the festival attracts top artists from around the world. It is a comprehensive guitar summer course based in Dublin city centre, comprising of daily tuition, concerts/gigs, seminars and exhibitions. The festival is organised by a voluntary committee deeply committed to guitar in Ireland and largely financially supported by Waltons and the Arts Council.
There is something here for everybody whatever your musical interest is. As well as masterclasses, intended for advanced players, there will be informal and relaxed classes for students of all abilities. You can also join in open question and answer sessions over coffee. There will also be sight-reading and musicianship classes, chamber music classes, lectures and a fantastic concert series.

The Waltons Guitar Festival of Ireland is meticulously planned by an enthusiastic and passionately dedicated team. Employing only the best international and Irish classical, jazz, bluegrass and flamenco acts, all performing in Dublin 's finest venues such as the National Concert Hall, the National Gallery, Vicar St. and many more. The festival creates a hub of cultural activity and offers the public an exhilarating programme of concerts, workshops, masterclasses, seminars, out-door entertainment and much more. Every year we have many short-term volunteers that help out during the festival period. It's a great place to meet others and enjoy a real festival buzz.
